Some vaccines are required to travel


Pre-trip consultation makes it possible to carry out a complete revision of your vaccination record, and to make sure you are up-to-date with your vaccinations, before your departure abroad.

Here is a list of important vaccines for all destinations:

ASIA

Ex: China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.

Other vaccines may be required such as:

  • Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine
  • Rage Vaccine
  • Typhoid Vaccine
  • Hepatitis A Vaccine

SOUTH AMERICA AND AFRICA

Ex: Angola, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Peru, etc.

The yellow fever vaccine is mandatory in African countries and South America such as in Brazil.

Recommendations:

  • Hepatitis A Vaccine
  • Typhoid Vaccine
  • The traveler's diarrhea vaccine (Dukoral) may also be offered to all travelers who wish to obtain additional protection during their stay.
  • It is important to know that malaria is present in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Africa, and some countries in Central and South America. A drug may be prescribed for you in prevention.

SAUDI ARABIA

A vaccination certificate is required for individuals who are traveling to Saudi Arabia during the Hajj or Umrah period. This certificate is valid for a period of 3 years. It needs to have been issued more than 10 days prior to your arrival in the country.

Here are the recommended vaccines in this country:

  • Yellow Fever vaccine, required to enter the country
  • Flu Vaccine, mandatory for all travelers during the Hajj period.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccine
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine
  • Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccine
  • Meningococcal vaccine, required for Hajj and Umrah
  • Polio vaccine, required for Hajj and Umrah
  • Measles-Rubella-Mumps Vaccine

If, upon your return, you have a health problem related to your stay abroad, consultation with a clinic doctor is covered by the RAMQ.
